Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies

An elevated version of the classic chocolate chip cookie.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ C Salted Butter

  • 1 C Sugar

  • 1 ¼ C Light Brown Sugar

  • ⅓ C Sourdough Starter Discard

  • 2 Large Eggs

  • 3 ½ C All Purpose Flour

  • 1 ¼ Tsp Baking Soda

  • 1 ¼ Tsp Baking Powder

  • 2 Tsp Kosher Salt

  • 3 C Chocolate Chips

  • Finishing Salt (I like Maldon)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°.

  • Cream butter and sugars.

  • Mix in sourdough discard.

  • Beat in eggs and vanilla.

  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.

  • Mix dry and wet ingredients.

  • Chill for 4 hours in the fridge.

  • Scoop with a cookie scoop. Place onto baking sheet and sprinkle with finishing salt.

  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
