Gingersnaps

Makes about 48 cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 C sugar

  • 3/4 C butter

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 C molasses

  • 2 C flour

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375°.

  • Cream sugar and butter. Beat in egg and molasses.

  • Stir in remaining ingredients until well mixed.

  • If desired, chill dough for easier handling. Shape into balls, roll balls in sugar.

  • Bake 9 to 12 minutes.
